Before administration—unless it is an emergency case—a skin test is performed to check if the patient is allergic to hyaluronidase. A contraindication may exist if the patient is allergic to bee stings (as bee venom also contains hyaluronidase) or has known hypersensitivity or allergy to hyaluronidase.
